 · The combination of Windows 10's Storage settings, Storage Sense, and free third-party apps like WinDirStat can quickly clear out enough extra space to store the latest games and videos. Windows update stores all the downloaded updates and cache files in a special folder called Software Distribution. Sometimes, this folder can consume more than 10GBs at a time. If this folder got corrupted, you might not be able to update Windows properly. Here are the steps to clear the Windows update cache folder in Windows  · Click ‘Home’ and then click ‘Erase Deleted Data’ in the left-pane. Once you open the folder, highlight the files to clear by using the mouse or by pressing Ctrl and A. Then, press Delete to clear your Download files. Select files to delete. In addition to the same sorts of files you were able to select earlier, you have some more options: Windows Update Cleanup files can take up a significant amount of space and are only used to install Windows Updates. Windows will automatically download the latest update files in the future, so you probably won't need to keep these older ones unless instructed by an admin.


Type and search [Reset this PC] in the Windows search bar ①, then click [Open]②. Click [Reset PC]③ in Reset this PC field. Select [Remove everything]④. Select [Local reinstall]⑤. Note: If you cannot reinstall Windows via Local reinstall or any errors occurred, you are able to choose Cloud download to reinstall Windows. A list of all your downloads will appear in a window named Downloads. After this, you can select the files to delete one by one. You can also select all the contents of the Downloads folder by pressing Command and A. Once you selected the files, drag them to the Trash icon. Click "Documents" on the left of the window and double click "Downloads." If you do not have this folder, skip to the next step. Press "Ctrl" and "A" to select all the downloaded files or just click the file you want to delete. Press "Delete," and click "Yes.".
